Once you have rated your items and have the insight score you should have an objective discussion with the team about what to include on the product roadmap with the help of the prioritization matrix on the chart view.
Find your "quick wins" and "don'ts" mapped out on a 2x2 chart that nicely complements your list of priorities in any view of type table (which is sorted by insight score).
The prioritization matrix allows you to evaluate every item based on its value and its relative effort of implementation.
Using the prioritization matrix
It's pretty simple: The items that deliver the highest value and require the least effort will be the quick wins for your roadmap. You find them in the top left of your chart. Make sure you focus on those first. In contrast to that, find your low value, high effort projects in the bottom right. airfocus is 100% customizable, so needless to say that you can also rename your corner labels (e.g. "quick wins" to "low hanging fruits").
Discuss items that fall into the "low value" and "strategic" quadrants with your team and stakeholders.
Analyzing and discussing the prioritization matrix will empower you to make sustainable and more objective decisions about:
What to do and what not to do
What is (or should be) the status bucket of each item (you can visualize this by using "lanes" on one of your views of type board.)
What is the timeline for your projects (use a view of type timeline for this)
Who should be in charge of a given item
Interpreting the bubbles
The bubbles are a visual representation of your items. They’re plotted on the chart based on your factor scores value (X) and effort (Y). The factor scores themselves are computed priority values that are based on your inputs and the corresponding criteria weights. Learn more on how factor and focus scores are calculated.
The bubble sizes are based on the R factor and provide additional information to help you with your decisions.
Click on any item or item bubble to see a summary of the item.
Now that you've made all these strategic decisions, you already have a clearly defined roadmap. Move to a board view or the timeline view to finalize the roadmapping.
